SUMMITH / TRANSPARENCY & TRUST
Privacy Policy
Your information, your choices.
Understand what information Summith collects, why we use it, when it may be shared, and how to contact us about your privacy.
Understand what information Summith collects, why we use it, when it may be shared, and how to contact us about your privacy.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how Summith handles personal information through summith.com, its member and Admin areas, appointment scheduling, newsletters, applications and related online services. Summith operates from Yaoundé, Cameroon.
For questions about the handling of your information, contact info@summith.com. If you need the registered legal entity’s name or details for a formal notice, request them through that address.
2. Information we collect
Depending on the features you use, we may collect:
- Contact and enquiry details: your name, email, telephone number, organisation, message and the service or opportunity that interests you.
- Appointment information: preferred date, time and meeting format, reasons for meeting, business stage and the goals you select or describe.
- Accounts and membership: registration or access-request details, login identifiers, membership status, approvals and communications.
- Investment and business records: information that you submit in an investment enquiry, and records made available to authorised members or managed by approved administrators. An enquiry is not proof of an investment.
- Newsletter preferences: email address, subscription and unsubscribe choices.
- Technical data: IP address, browser or device information, basic usage information, security logs and settings such as language or display preferences, to the extent collected by the website and its service providers.
- Optional uploads: documents or images supplied through a feature that permits uploading.
3. Why we use information
We use information to answer enquiries, review applications, administer memberships, provide access to relevant content, process and organise booking requests, communicate about services or opportunities, secure our website, maintain operational records and comply with applicable obligations.
Where applicable, our reasons for processing include taking steps at your request before providing a service, fulfilling an agreement, pursuing legitimate administrative or security interests, meeting legal duties and relying on your consent where consent is required. You can withdraw consent for optional communications at any time.
4. Appointments and Google Calendar
Public form verification: Contact and Newsletter submissions require confirmation that the supplied email address can receive messages. Until that confirmation, the submission is temporarily held outside the Admin inbox for up to 24 hours. If the confirmation is not completed, the pending request expires without becoming a subscriber or a team enquiry.
When you request a meeting, the selected appointment time is reserved for team review; it is not automatically a confirmed meeting. Summith may email a request acknowledgement, an invitation marked as tentative and subsequent updates. A secure, private rescheduling link may be included in appointment emails; do not share that link with others.
If an authorised Summith administrator connects a Google Calendar account, certain appointment details, such as meeting date, time, topic, reference and visitor name, may be placed in that connected calendar. The integration may read free/busy event information to help prevent double bookings. Visitors are not required to connect their own Google accounts. Google processes calendar information under its own applicable terms and privacy notices.
How the Google Calendar connection handles Google user data
Access requested: only a Summith administrator may authorise the Google Calendar integration. The permission allows the application to read and manage events in that connected account, including event titles, descriptions, participant information where present, identifiers, dates, times and availability status. For events unrelated to Summith bookings, the application uses scheduling information to avoid conflicts rather than publishing their content. Basic Google account identity may be used to show which calendar is connected.
Use and storage: the application uses calendar information solely to create, update or remove Summith booking events, identify schedule conflicts and display connected-account status. It stores protected connection tokens, linked Summith event identifiers and a limited cache of busy time slots in WordPress. It does not publish unrelated Google event descriptions to site visitors, and it does not use Google Calendar data for advertising, credit scoring, resale or unrelated profiling.
Control and deletion: the Super Admin can disconnect Google Calendar in the Summith Admin dashboard, removing stored connection tokens and cached busy slots. Events previously created inside Google Calendar may remain there until removed separately. The Google account owner can also revoke access through Google Account security settings. See Google’s Privacy Policy and the Google API Services User Data Policy.
5. Service providers and external links
Information may be processed by providers supporting website hosting, operational email, account security and, when connected, Google Calendar. Certain webpages may show embedded market information, video or external publications. When an embedded service or external link loads, its provider may receive technical information and apply its own privacy policy.
We do not publish private application or member records as public content merely because a visitor submitted them. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users or services, or as necessary to handle a requested service. We do not describe an enquiry as a completed securities transaction.
6. Cookies, local storage and preferences
WordPress and account features may use essential cookies to maintain sign-in sessions, authentication and security. The site can also store interface preferences such as theme or language on your device. Embedded third-party content may use additional cookies or similar technology under its provider’s policies.
You can manage cookies through your browser. Disabling essential cookies may prevent login or some personalised features from working. If optional tracking is introduced, the website should provide any consent or notice required by applicable law.
7. How long we keep information
We keep records for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which they were collected, such as responding to a request, maintaining an account, administering appointments, protecting the service or complying with applicable legal and recordkeeping obligations. Retention periods differ by record type and are not necessarily the same for newsletters, enquiries, accounts and transaction-related records.
You may ask us what information we retain about you and request its deletion where applicable. Certain information may need to be retained for lawful, security or dispute-resolution reasons.
8. Security and international processing
We use administrative and technical safeguards intended to reduce unauthorised access, including role-restricted Admin areas and protected booking or calendar credentials where supported. No internet service or transmission method is completely secure.
Because website, email and connected providers may operate across borders, personal information could be processed in countries outside Cameroon. Where required, Summith should apply appropriate safeguards for such processing.
9. Your choices and privacy rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information, ask questions about its use, object to or request restrictions on certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the instructions provided or by contacting us.
Email info@summith.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line. To protect account holders we may reasonably verify the requester before releasing or changing sensitive records.
10. Children’s information
Services involving securities, investments or business relationships may be subject to eligibility or age requirements stated in the relevant service or offering documents. If you believe information relating to a child has been submitted without appropriate authority, contact Summith so the matter can be reviewed.
11. Changes to this notice
We may revise this Privacy Policy as site features, integrations and requirements change. The date shown above identifies the latest published revision. Material changes affecting how information is used should be communicated through appropriate channels. For related rules, read our Terms & Conditions and Disclaimer.
