Call For Volunteers

Why volunteer with Summith at CITS?

Summith is building an ecosystem for bold African entrepreneurs, and CITS is a chance to put that mission into action. Our volunteers will help us welcome visitors, spark conversations, create an engaging stand experience and support our media team throughout the conference. Important: Selected volunteers will be expected to participate in preparation sessions before CITS. This is an active event role, not simply a presence-at-the-stand role.

ROLES AVAILABLE

  1. CHESS HOST • 1 VOLUNTEER
    We are looking for a male, bilingual (English/French), friendly and energetic volunteer to host our Capital Chess experience. The life-size chess game will be used as an attraction at the Summith stand and as an entry point into conversations around our Investor Readiness Program
  • Understands games and can confidently explain or facilitate a simple chess/game experience
  • Bilingual in English and French
  • Friendly, outgoing and comfortable engaging visitors
  • Can create a fun, welcoming experience without losing professionalism
  • Business knowledge is a strong plus, especially entrepreneurship, investment or finance
  • Able to connect the game experience naturally to Summith’s Investor Readiness conversation

2. VOX POP VOLUNTEERS • 2 VOLUNTEERS
Two volunteers will conduct short vox pops with conference attendees and other people around the event. You will have a prepared question bank, but the ability to listen, improvise and keep a conversation moving will matter just as much.

  • Excellent verbal communication and active listening
  • Comfortable approaching and speaking with strangers
  • Confident, warm and respectful when starting conversations
  • Able to ask follow-up questions rather than simply reading from a script
  • Business/entrepreneurship knowledge is a plus
  • Able to identify relevant business conversations and guide interested people toward the Summith stand

3. MEDIA / DIGITAL VOLUNTEER • 1 VOLUNTEER
Support Summith’s media and digital team with on-ground content capture and event coverage. This role is for someone who understands that good event content is about spotting the moment, not merely recording everything. CITS 2026

  • Comfortable assisting with photos and/or short-form video capture
  • Understands basic social media content needs
  • Reliable, observant and quick to respond to content opportunities
  • Able to work collaboratively with the media/digital team
  • Basic knowledge of mobile photography, videography, editing or social media is a plus

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM ALL VOLUNTEERS

  • Commitment to attend the required preparation sessions before CITS.
  • Professionalism, punctuality and reliability throughout the conference.
  • Comfort working in a busy, public-facing environment.
  • Respectful communication with founders, investors, partners, guests and other attendees.
  • A willingness to learn about Summith, its offers and its purpose before the event.
  • Team spirit. You will be part of one on-ground team, not three separate islands.

Preparation: Selected volunteers will receive details of the required preparation sessions. Feeding and transportation will be covered by Summith for all volunteers.
